Piers & Hotel Transfer Info
- Departure Points on Koh Phi Phi: Departures operate from two areas: Tonsai Pier (main town hub) and Laem Tong Beach (serving northern luxury resorts).
- Laem Tong Check-in: Guests staying at SAii Phi Phi Island Village are picked up directly in front of their resort. Guests staying at other northern resorts (Phi Phi Natural Resort, OUTRIGGER / Zeavola, and Phi Phi Holiday Resort) check in and board at P.P. Erawan Palms Resort. We recommend contacting your resort staff, as they will gladly assist and guide you to the boarding point.
- Arrival Piers in Krabi: Sailings connect to key piers: Nopparat Thara Pier (Ao Nang area), Klong Jilad Pier, Krabi River Marina, Kong Ka Pier, or Ao Nam Mao Pier. Ground travel between any pier and Ao Nang, Krabi Town, or Krabi Airport is quick and easy—feel free to choose based primarily on your preferred departure time.
- Krabi Hotel Transfers: Selected departures include complimentary shared minivan drop-off to hotels in Ao Nang and Krabi Town (marked with a Free Transfer badge on the timetable). For other operators, transfers are available as an optional add-on or via pier taxis.
- Check-in Timing: For Tonsai Pier, please check in at the operator counter at least 30 minutes before departure. For Laem Tong Beach, please arrive at your designated beachfront meeting point 20 to 30 minutes prior to scheduled departure.
Good to Know Before You Book
- Speedboat vs Ferry Travel Time: Direct speedboats make the crossing in approximately 1 hour. Large passenger ferries take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, offering air-conditioned indoor lounges, open sundecks, and smoother cruising.
- Flexible Arrival Piers: Because road distances across Krabi are relatively short and easily accessible, you can comfortably select your boat based on your desired departure time rather than being limited to a specific arrival pier.
- Seating Policy: Standard open seating operates on a first-come, first-served basis. On speedboats, crew members assist with passenger placement to ensure boat balance and maritime safety.
- Luggage Allowance: Standard ticket covers 1 suitcase (maximum 20 kg) and 1 personal carry-on bag per passenger.
- Safety Restrictions: Speedboat travel is strictly prohibited for pregnant women, infants under 1 year of age, and travelers with back, neck, or spine conditions. In case of need to travel, large passenger ferries are the safe and recommended alternative.
